About me...the short version

I’m Sharon Cooper, wife, entrepreneur, Virtual Assistant, freelance writer, playwright and author -and not necessarily in that order.

I haven’t always been tied to a desk, a computer and a chair.  After high school, I spent 10 years as a Sheet Metal Worker in a shop full of men.  And while enjoying that unique line of work, experience and great pay, I attended college in the evening and obtained my B.A. from Concordia University in Business Management with an emphasis in Communication.

Once I received my degree, I ran the family business for 10 years. But after getting tired of the long, cold winters (Milwaukee) I passed the family business baton to one of my brothers.  My husband and I then relocated to San Diego...which is where my writing career officially started.

After being in San Diego for several months and craving friends, I finally met someone who was also a fellow writer. A short time after meeting, we started a writer's group (HCSD).  Though I wasn't a serious writer at the time, I soon realized my passion for it and wrote a children's book, entitled "But I Washed My Hands Yesterday!" Okay, so maybe the title doesn't sound like I was serious, but I was.  After the story received numerous rejections from the publishing world, the co-founder of the writer's group - my first San Diego friend, suggested that I turn it into a children's play.  Loving the idea, I did just that and within a week of its completion, the play was acquired by Plays Magazine!

Once I sold the play, I began working on several other writing projects, one being an inspirational romance novel. I had always been a fan of romance novels, so I figured, why not write one.  What was once an idea, has become a reality.  I’ve recently completed my first novel, entitled, FORGIVE ME. While working on the novel, I also started a part-time Virtual Assistant business.  A few years later, thanks to that same friend, I started doing some freelance writing.

Okay...long story short, I now live in Atlanta with my wonderful husband.  And though I play many roles, being a wife is my favorite. I've been blessed with an amazing mate, 2 wonderful stepchildren and 4 wonderful godchildren.

I am now a full-time Virtual Assistant and writer; I'm the co-founder of another writer's group (LitDivas) and though FORGIVE ME is not published...yet, I’m excited to announce that I’ve recently become a published contributing author in the anthology– HAVE A LITTLE FAITH.

As far as Sharon, the individual, I’m a Christian, love hanging with Mr. Cooper (my hubbie), enjoy any dessert, and I absolutely love to laugh!  I like rainy days and carpet picnics; I'm obsessed with organization, and I'm a die hard romantic...and a true believer of happy endings.
