An Excerpt from the Have A Little Faith anthology

Born-Again Virgin

By: Sharon Cunningham Cooper

I’ll never forget the day that my parents gave me “the talk.” To say it was weird
would be an understatement.  They both had these serious looks on their faces.
Kind of like, “we don’t want to do this, but we must.”  When they called me into the
room, I remember doing a mental catalog of all of the things that had happened in the last 24 hours, I was trying to figure out what I had done wrong, to have to sit and talk with both of them, at the same time.  They directed me to the living room and my mother informed me that they wanted to talk about sex.

My mind screamed, “Noooo, not ‘the talk’!”  Though it might’ve been one of their parenting duties, I didn’t want any part of it. I can only imagine the nauseating expression on my face caused by the icy fear running through my veins.
